About Me
I have worked in the areas of mental health and community development since 2014. Through working with children, families, and diverse communities, I have seen how deeply our relationships, environments, and social contexts can shape our emotional lives. I completed my Master of Social Work at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto and became a Registered Social Worker in 2023.
My work has spanned hospital and community-based settings, where I have supported individuals and families navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. At present, I concurrently work in community-based child and youth mental health, where I support young kids and their caregivers facing challenges related to developmental and acute trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, FASD, ADHD and ASD, and more.
Beyond my professional experience, I am guided to this work by my lived experiences. For many years, I dealt with crippling anxiety that was often overlooked and misunderstood, and reached a point where moving through daily life felt overwhelmingly difficult. As things began to feel more unbearable, I was fortunate enough to connect with a thoughtful, compassionate therapist who helped me feel seen, understood, and who supported me in making sense of the experiences that had shaped me. Through this work, I was able to see things slowly begin to shift and move in new, positive directions.
I know how heavy it can feel to move through challenges that are not always visible to or understood by others, and how impactful it is to be met with care that feels attuned to your specific experiences. I would be honoured to offer this support to you.
How I Work
I work with clients to understand the deeper patterns that shape their beliefs, sense of self, emotions, and relationships.
My approach to therapy is integrative. I draw from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), alongside talk therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Narrative Therapy.
Together, these approaches support the processing of trauma, grief, anxiety, and other difficult experiences, while also creating space to explore and gently shift core beliefs and patterns of thinking, self-perception, and relating to others, so that you can begin to move through your life with greater peace, self-compassion, and confidence.
My work is client-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, and grounded in anti-oppressive and anti-racist practice.
